STUDENT PASS/VISA GUIDELINES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

 

Other than institution fees and tuition fees, all international student are required to pay for the student pass/ visa charges as and when required. Following are some information on Student Pass/Visa:

Student Pass:

Student Pass is the document, which is required for all international students when they undertake full-time study in Malaysia. It is recognised by the endorsement given in his or her passport while the student is studying in an educational institution in Malaysia.

 

Multiple Entry Visa (MEV):

International students, who have student passes, will be given a Multiple Entry Visa. With this visa, students will be allowed to go in and out of Malaysia for the duration of their Student Passes are valid. The charges vary from country to country accordingly and do not exceed RM100.00. 

 

Special Pass

A special pass is a temporary pass issued for a month or less. It is used to extend a student's pass during a student pass application period in case of delays in the application process or if the student submits the application late.

 

Single Entry Visa /Journey Performed Visa

International students who require visas before entering Malaysia have to get a Single Entry Visa from the Malaysian embassy, consulate or high commission in their home country or the nearest representative of the Malaysian government before coming to Malaysia. Failure to do so, the individual will be issued a Journey Performed Visa upon approval of their Student Pass application and a sum between RM20 to RM50 will be charged for processing this Visa.

 

 

GUIDELINES

Step 1: Obtain Visa Approval Letter (VAL)

 Obtain an offer letter from the Admission Unit, Office of the Registrar

  1. Do health examination in your home country by using the Medical Report Form issued by the Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS).
  2. Make the EMGS Payment and Processing Fee
  3. Submit all documents for Visa Approval Letter (VAL) application:-
    1. A copy of university offer letter
    2. 3 copies of your passport (all page)
    3. A copy of your academic transcript
    4. 4 copies of your recent passport sized photos (with white background)
    5. Completed Health Examination Report Form

If you are from any of the NOC (Non Objection Certificate) countries, please produce the NOC document and submit it together with the visa application. To know the list of NOC Countries, please browse at http://www.educationmalaysia.gov.my/

NOTE: Kindly ensure that your passport has at least ONE YEAR Validity.

 

Step 2:  Obtain Single Entry Visa (SEV)

If you are from the countries in GROUP A, you may need to obtain Single Entry Visa (SEV) from the Malaysian Embassy OR Malaysian Consulate OR Malaysian High Commission Office in your country to enter Malaysia.

If you from the countries in GROUP B & GROUP C, you may enter Malaysia without a visa. You just need to show "Visa Approval Letter" upon entry.  You may be charge some amount upon entry by the Malaysian Immigration.

 

Step 3: Arrange your arrival

Arrange your flight ticket to arrive in Malaysia before the last day of registration day.  If you do not manage to arrive on the registration day itself, kindly inform the Admission Office so that your registration could be postponed to the next intake.  Your VAL is valid for 6 months.

 

Step 4: Immigration Clearance and Airport Pick-up

Our staff will meet you at the airport for the immigration clearance. If you have requested for airport transfer in the arrival form earlier, you may follow our representative to the university.

 

Step 5:  University Registration and Medical Examination

You may now proceed with the medical examination required by EMGS at the panel clinics.  Our staff will advise you on this. You may register yourself to the university on the date stated on the offer letter.

 

Step 6: Student Pass Sticker Endorsement

Once your medical examination is successful, you are required to surrender your passport for student pass sticker endorsement.  This process may take 1-2 weeks. Our staff will notify you once your passport is ready for collection.
